Updated National Community Recovery Handbook published to assist in disaster recovery
AIDR has published an updated handbook to build capability for those assisting communities in recovery.
The Community Recovery Handbook is a useful resource for those in emergency management who have a role in supporting communities through recovery after a disaster. The handbook explores key concepts and frameworks in recovery and provides resources for readers to work with communities to deliver effective recovery processes, services, programs and activities.
It can be used by agencies to develop policies, capabilities, emergency management plans and other documents that incorporate disaster recovery within their own jurisdictions agencies, organisations, and communities.
The handbook aligns to the recently updated National Principles for Disaster Recovery and includes guidance on applying the principles within various demographics and throughout the various complexities in supporting a community through the recovery process.
The revised handbook is freely accessible on the Knowledge Hub: https://knowledge.aidr.org.au/resources/handbook-2-community-recovery/
