Victorian Community-Based Resilience Building Case Studies
Since 2012, the Monash University Disaster Resilience Initiative (MUDRI) has maintained a strong interest in helping communities develop their resilience, particularly in the setting of disasters / emergencies / or unexpected events.
As an Australian first, the Compendium of Victorian Community-based Resilience Building Case Studies provides a resource that promotes resilience-building activities to community members who want to strengthen their own community’s resilience by drawing on examples and expertise embedded within the case studies.
The Compendium aims to connect people across Victorian communities, reduce program duplication, save valuable resources and provide an avenue to share community-based resilience building activities.
Project creators share their ideas, how they overcame challenges, discovered new directions or found that unexpected piece of wisdom.
Communities from across Australia can find valuable learnings from the case studies.
MUDRI acknowledges Emergency Management Victoria for seed funding that enabled the initial development of the Compendium.
